Ornamental or Flowering Kale (Brassica oleracea) forms lush rosettes of ruffled leaves in jewel-tone purples, whites and greens that hold vibrant color into cooler months. Grow in full sun with fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soil; it handles Florida’s mild winters beautifully. Remove yellowing outer leaves to keep displays fresh, and space plants 12–18″ apart for full effect. Pair with dusty miller or pansies in containers or use as a decorative border to usher in fall and winter interest.
