Description
Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima) produces delicate clusters of tiny white, pink or purple fragrant flowers that form low, mounding carpets ideal for edging garden beds, rock gardens and containers. In Florida’s warm climate, alyssum blooms from early spring through fall when given full sun to partial shade. Keep soil consistently moist yet well-drained, and deadhead spent blooms to promote continuous flowering. Use along walkways for a fragrant border or tuck between taller annuals for a soft, cottage-garden vibe. In containers, mix with petunias and verbena for a cascading display of color and scent.
