Description
Zinnia (Zinnia elegans) captivates with its bold, single or double daisy-style flowers in a spectrum from fiery red and orange to soft pink and yellow. In full Florida sun, plant zinnias in fertile, well-drained soil and water deeply once or twice weekly, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings. Deadhead regularly to promote nonstop flowering from late spring through fall. Use zinnias as vibrant focal points in mixed beds or group them in clusters for a painterly meadow effect; their sturdy stems also make excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements.
