Description
Verbena (Verbena × hybrida) forms low mounds blanketed in clusters of small, five-petaled star-shaped flowers in vibrant hues of purple, pink, red and white. Ideal for Florida’s hot summers, it flourishes in full sun with well-drained soil and tolerates drought once established. Water when the topsoil dries, and deadhead spent clusters to promote nonstop blooms. Verbena excels as a groundcover, edging plant or spill-over in containers—combine with trailing sweet potato vine and calibrachoa for a cascading carpet of color.
