Description
Marigolds (Tagetes spp.) bring cheerful pompom-style blooms in warm yellows, oranges and deep reds all season long. They thrive in full Florida sun and tolerate heat—and even brief dry spells—once established. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and water only when the topsoil begins to dry. Deadhead spent blooms weekly to maintain a neat habit and encourage more flowers. Design tip: use marigolds to edge vegetable beds (they deter pests) or group them in containers for a vibrant, sun-kissed display.
