Description
Impatiens (Impatiens walleriana) produce flat-faced blooms in vibrant pinks, reds and whites atop glossy green foliage. Ideal for Florida’s shady spots, they flourish in part to full shade with rich, consistently moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly to prevent drying but avoid waterlogged roots. Feed monthly with a balanced fertilizer to sustain continuous flowering. Use impatiens to brighten shaded borders, festoon window boxes, or fill containers and hanging baskets. Pair with ferns or hostas for a lush, textural contrast.
